Rules

RULES:
1. All entries are to be made in the producer’s name.
2. All fruit and vegetables to be Iowa grown.
3. Exhibitor name must be on tag. Tag must be attached to plate.
4. Stems are to remain on fruit exhibits, except plums and peaches.
5. Remove stems from tomatoes.
6. Exhibits should be free of disease and insect or worm damage.
7. Entries in group displays and collections are not eligible to compete in individual lists. Single entries cannot compete as part of a display.
8. Exhibit must be complete (with amount specified) or entry will be disqualified; e.g. 10 specimens, 1 pint, etc.
9. Displays judged on quality of products, attractiveness, arrangement perfection, neat & proper labeling. See rule #17. Please write variety on tag, if known.
10.If there are 10 or more in any list number, that category will be divided into two groups of equal number, with those entries received first put into the first group.
11.Exhibitor can enter only 1 item in list.
12. If you have more than 8 entries, please try to pre-enter at the Fair Office before entry day.
13. Fair will provide plates.
14. An article MUST be meritorious to draw a premium and shall be entitled to first premium ONLY IF MERITORIOUS.
15. Once an exhibit is in place, the exhibitor cannot touch it.
16. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to choose which list number to enter an Exhibit and how it should be displayed.
17. All exhibits should be prepared according to the “Harvesting and Preparing Vegetables For Exhibit” pamphlet available from the Extension Service or downloadable on the internet.
