WEST LIBERTY, IA- The West Liberty State Bank has gifted $10,000 to the New Event Center at the Muscatine County Fair.
West Liberty State Bank has been a reputable financial institution in the community for decades. In 2015 the location was acquired by South Ottumwa Savings Bank but maintained the West Liberty State Bank name. South Ottumwa Savings Bank, a privately owned Iowa-based bank, has a major presence in eastern Iowa completing 3 acquisitions in the past ten years and continuing to grow. As the bank has pushed into new markets, the strategy remains the same- maintain the hometown brand and support the community as much as possible.
“Our owners are very supportive of everything we do for the community of West Liberty.” Said Jason Cassady. “When I presented the Event Center project to the Board, they agreed that this would be a great investment in the community and county.”
The event center will be the first of its kind in Muscatine County, as there is nothing of this size or nature within a 50-mile radius. The event center will seat 500 people in the large great room, and will also have a meeting room and board room along with offices in the building as well. The event center will also have a patio that looks out to the beautifully maintained fairgrounds.
“We are very grateful for this tremendous financial gift and all the other support we get from West Liberty State Bank. The bank has been a major fair supporter for many years by providing financial support, sponsorship support, and volunteering for committees and events at the fair. It’s also been beneficial to have the Bank President on the fundraising committee for the event center.” Said, Kelsey Meyers, Muscatine County Fair Manager.
The project is on track to break ground in March, as the fair board has ordered the building to arrive this spring. The fair board will also be hosting its annual Weekend for the Fair Fundraiser on March 1st and will be giving more updates on the Event Center at the fundraiser. Tickets for the fundraiser can be purchased at the fair office.
