WEST LIBERTY, IA- Robert and Shirley Frauenholtz were lifetime residents of rural West Liberty and farmed just west of West Liberty. Robert and Shirley have two children, Bill and his wife Michelle Frauenholtz, and Susan Frauenholtz. They also have two grandchildren Hillary and her husband Brady Andros, and Adriane and her husband Jake Sedlacek. Jake and Adriane also have two children Truman and Cady.
Robert and Shirley and the entire family have spent a lot of time at the fair and have loved the fair. Bill, Susan, Hillary, and Adriane have all been exhibitors at the fair through both 4-H and open-class exhibits. Robert and Shirley loved watching their kids and grandkids exhibit and never missed a chance to watch them. From the cattle shows and horse shows to the static exhibits, the Frauenholtz family has participated in all aspects of the fair. To this day everyone in the family still attends the fair and is raising the next generation of exhibitors. Bill and Michelle also volunteer their time working on landscaping by the entrance signs and at several other landscaping areas on the grounds.
“Many of our family’s most cherished moments took place at the Muscatine County Fair. We want to see the Fair thrive and grow so our grandkids can have the same great experiences and culture that we were fortunate enough to have.” Said Bill Frauenholtz.
The modern 500-person capacity event center is on schedule to break ground in March. The new event center will have space for 4-H Clubs and FFA Chapters to host meetings and fundraisers throughout the year. It will also be where the 4-H and FFA static projects will be housed during the fair. The space will also be able to be utilized by various organizations throughout the county to host banquets and family gatherings.
“I really can’t thank the Frauenholtz family enough for their dedication to the fair over the years and for this donation. It really is a true testament to their dedication to the fair and the future of the fair.” Said, Kelsey Meyers, Muscatine County Fair Manager.
